WEEK 7 # 17 BLOG ABOUT TECHNOLOGY
In this few weeks I have learned so much about the Web technology. I am more inclined to appreciate information technology. It is exciting for me to be able to navigate and find all kinds of news with the click of the mouse. I also love the entertainment technology, in special, the image generators, and the links. I found a blog with an avatar post that I found very cute, and I added a comment to it. I love this project!!!
WEEK 7 # 16 WHAT'S IN A WIKI?
I found WIKI to be a very awesome concept, since I love writing and like to express my opinion if possible (If I have a knowledge on the subject). I have learned so many new things during this project. I discovered sites that I never imagined existed on the WEB, but WIKI has impressed me the most. I found the WIKI from SJCPL very interesting where they offer to the public the opportunity to 'talk to the library'
I think WIKIS can be utilized within the library to create a forum for the public to exchange ideas about library services and discuss books and movies.

WEEK 6 # 15 LIBRARY 2.0 & WEB 2.0
For this exercise I read the perspectives, in more detail: 'Librarianship' and 'Icebergs'. I think is great that Libraries are willing to evolve at the same pace as technology in the Web and are welcoming the same concepts in order to better serve the public. The Google map mash up of local libraries created by Chicago librarians is a great example how we can make a difference in the community of users. On the other hand, I agree that technology should be tested to see if it provides the users with the information they need and seek . As a Library employee, Library 2.0 means to me, an opportunity to learn new web tools in order to advance in my profession, and to offer better customer service to the public.
WEEK 6 # 14 Getting not-so technical with Technorati
Well ....for training purposes I did the regular discovery exercises. I did an advanced search in the 3 suggested categories. I chose Astrology as my subject. Blog posts and Tags seemed alike, in fact, it produced the same blog post for the top one. Blog directory was exactly that, a linked directory to blogs. It is clearly different. I explored Popular, the rating of movies and news was fascinating. In reference to the optional exercises. Am I up for the challenge? YES!!! But........... some exercises are time-consuming. Honestly, I wish I had all the time in the world, but it is impossible. Surely, I will complete them later on my own time, not because I have to, but because I want to.

WEEK 6 # 13 TAGGING IS DELICIOUS !
I explored the web site DEL.ICI.OUS, I view some of the sites that people have bookmarked, and their opinions and tags they attached . I felt like I was peeking into people's chest drawers to see what they have stored away. It is definitely a way to discover what people like and make comparisons. I believe it can be used to do research if you are writing a report or an essay.
You can also research a specific industry or occupation.

WEEK 5 # 12 THE ELF
I enjoyed this discovery step, I guess because it is simple. I loved the 'Elf', or more precise what it does. It's neat and helpful for persons who have more than one library account, check out a lot of items and tend to be forgetful.

WEEK 5 # 11 LIBRARY THING
Library thing is great!! I loved it, opening an account, adding books to create a library was fairly easy, doing the link to the Library thing site was not easy, but I managed to create one.

WEEK 4 # 9 FINDING FEEDS
There is so much information on the Web......... Sites which connect with other sites, and these connect with others and so on............one can get lost! Nevertheless it is amazing. I particularly liked Syndic8 for finding feeds, the interface or home page is simpler than the others. Also I liked the search engines at the Bloglines site ( I think I said that in the previous post) I did not find anything really unusual, I guess I did not search long enough. Personally, the fact that a person can get the latest news from all over the world with the click of a mouse, is intriguing.

WEEK 4 #8:
Exciting! Enlightening! Educational! This is just a few words to describe this part of the project. For me it was really a discovery, I have finished the exercise, once I found on the home page of the 'Bloglines' site a link to 'the 200 most popular feeds' it was relatively easy. Before that I try many sites, but I could not get access to them. I also subscribed to two blogs from HCPL participants.

WEEK 2 # 4
Privacy is very important to me. I think online safety is every individual (who navigates the internet) responsibility. In regards to children, parents should supervise. I feel that there has to be a balance, as in everything we do in life. Must be selective on what you share.

WEEK 2 # 2
This is an exciting project. I love learning new things. I have 'arrived' just a 'little' late but I am eager to complete each step, I have watched the tutorial, and I think that focusing, concentrating and setting goals are very important learning habits.
